ARUNDEL

Castle

THE PLACE: ARUNDEL UK

Posted by Emily

When I was told to make sure that I stop off in Arundel whilst on my way from Chichester to Brighton, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. But it wasn’t long before I realised what all the fuss was about. Arundel is a quaint town and civil parish in the South Downs of West Sussex. It’s small and charming but there is one thing that really stands out…

ARUNDEL CASTLE

It’s freaking huge! And pretty hard to miss as its high walls can be spotted from the highway. The medieval castle dates back to the reign of William the Conqueror and had been in the family of the Duke of Norfolk for over 400 years. Over this time it has been restored and remodeled and is now open to the public to explore.

It is by far the most impressive castle I have seen, not just for the castle itself, but also for the beautiful grounds and gardens. Definitely worth the visit if you are ever in the area. And now to the photos…
