EAR BOMBS #2 – NOAH GUNDERSEN

Ear-bomb

THE ARTIST: NOAH GUNDERSEN

Posted by Amelia

I cannot explain to you how obsessed I am with Noah Gundersen at the moment. He is on constant repeat while I work, occasionally causing me to be inappropriately intense and emotional. His perfect folk music makes me feel feelings. From Olympia, Washington, Gundersen is accompanied by his beautiful sister, Abby, who sings and plays the violin. His music features clear indie and religious influences in the almost gospel harmonies and Christian folk references (he partially covers the Christian folk hymn Down in the River to Pray in his song Poor Man’s Son) which combine so beautifully.

If Gundersen were a movie, the Coen Brothers would have made it. And it would melt your face off with how good it was. I feel I may have over-hyped this. Everyone calm down.

To check him out head over to his website or YouTube channel.

THE FEELS: THIS MUSIC IS PERFECT. GENTLE AND HEARTBREAKING AND SINCERE.

And folk. Folk is back. Deal with it.

THE SONG: CIGARETTES

Here is a live version of the song Cigarettes from Gundersen’s 2014 Ledges album, recorded for City Arts Magazine.
